About this API Testing course
This API testing course takes you from what an API is to a working automated API test framework running in CI. It has 12 sections and 123 lessons, about 35 hours of study, with a practice lab and an assessment in every section.
You learn HTTP and JSON properly first, then test APIs by hand in Postman, design positive and negative test cases, handle authentication and authorization, and automate checks with TypeScript. Later sections cover schema and contract testing, test data and state, advanced scenarios, basic performance and security checks, and building a framework that runs in CI/CD. Labs call a real practice API, so every request you send returns a real response.
Who this course is for
- Manual testers who want to start API testing
- UI automation testers adding API skills
- Freshers preparing for API testing interview questions
- Developers who want a structured way to test their own APIs
What you need
- Basic computer skills; no coding needed for the first sections
- Postman installed (free) for the manual testing sections
- Node.js for the TypeScript automation sections, set up in the course
What you will be able to do
- Read and write HTTP requests, status codes, headers and JSON
- Design API test cases, including negative and boundary cases
- Test token-based login and role-based access
- Automate API checks with TypeScript and validate response schemas
- Manage test data so tests do not depend on each other
- Run your API test suite in a CI/CD pipeline
