JMeter vs LoadRunner in 2026 — is LoadRunner still worth the license?

Honest 2026 tradeoff: LoadRunner still leads on enterprise protocols (Citrix, SAP GUI, mainframe) and vendor-supported reporting. For HTTP/HTTPS/gRPC/WebSocket — 90% of modern workloads — JMeter (or k6) does the job for zero license cost. Unless you have a compliance/enterprise reason for LoadRunner, open source is the right call.
