Cypress vs Playwright — the honest 2026 take?

Honest 2026 take: if the 800 specs are stable and your team is productive, do not migrate for the sake of it. Cypress 13+ is fast and DX is still great for single-origin apps. Migrate if you need multi-tab / multi-origin flows, true parallelism without Cypress Cloud, or shared browser context. Otherwise add Playwright for new suites and let Cypress serve what it serves well.
